Celebrate a Summer sendoff with HanVoice’s: Alla Prima, art show and live music. Swept’s own Annie Ly will be on the ground to cover the event.
Enjoy wonderful music by HanVoice’s own James Pyo, Heejoo Yoon, and Hyona Park, as well as Tamar Friedman, Avelyn Waldman, and Jonathan Hollingsworth, whilst you bid on original artwork by Marie Park in silent auction.
The artwork is the result of Park’s “100 Days of Art” challenge, during which she created one piece of art a day for one hundred days. All proceeds from the auction will be going to HanVoice’s Pioneers Project – a leadership program focusing on the empowerment of the many voices of North Korean refugees, through advocacy, activism, and education.
So come out, enjoy some live music, original art and, through silent auction, help bolster the voices of those refugees who wish to speak out against the dictatorial atrocities in North Korea. Support this artwork with a cause.
“HanVoice, a Toronto-based not-for-profit [...] has flourished into a grassroots movement uniting concerned Canadians spanning generations – from high school students to retirees, across campuses and classrooms, and Canadians of an array of cultures and walks of life. What mobilizes this diverse group of Canadians is the common cause of giving voice to the voiceless North Korean people [...]. While our base is strong, and our public support is growing, we could not have seen the success we have had to date without the support of concerned citizens like you. There is still much work to be done, and we look forward to having you join us in our effort.”
