Toronto’s wonderful annual celebration of all things great and geeky, Fan Expo, opened yesterday for nerds young and old.
For those of you who didn’t have the scratch put together to enter the inner sanctum of nerdity this weekend, there is a new hope.
Cosmically crafty Matt Hemming has built his own T.A.R.D.I.S. out on display atop the hill in Roundhouse park – an infinty stone’s throw from the convention centre gates. Come and have your pictures taken with the Doctor (Hemming) himself!
And perhaps, given its recent explosion at the box office, you may want to take a picture with Starlord as well!
That’s right: Who is Starlord!
If you haven’t booked ahead, and are looking for something extravagant to uphold the sanctity of geekdom tonight, you are invited to the Virgin Mobile Mod Club for Nerd North Media’s: Geekpron’s Cosplay Ball. Come dressed in your best, and enjoy burlesque, fire, swords, dancing and much more (the T.A.R.D.I.S. will be there for photos through the night): all the things we nerds want and can’t seem to get from the rest of the world: why not let’s help each other out?
So take a trip through time and space and come to Roundhouse Park to appreciate Hemming’s hard work and fantastic achievements.
