A dramatic presentation of the final chapter of James Joyce’s Ulysses
TORONTO, Ontario… Ravenous Theatre and Fourth Gorgon Theatre are proud to present a dramatic staging of the infamous final episode in the Irish masterpiece Ulysses, entitled Molly Bloom. The show will be performed at The Central Bar, 603 Markham St. On June 16th, 2015 at 7:30 pm.
Told through the voices of seven women, Molly Bloom recounts the thoughts of its title character over the course of an evening as she lies awake in bed, unable to sleep. Molly’s thoughts range from humorous observations of her daily life, her affair with a local rake and other sexual desires, the loss of her young child, and the depth of her love for her husband, despite their troubled relationship. Developed and staged by the ensemble, this show commemorates Joyce’s Ulysses on the very day the novel is set,
and celebrates one of literature’s most infamous, powerful and charming characters.
Set in The Central’s intimate atmosphere, Molly Bloom is certain to delight and surprise.
The ensemble features Jocelyn Adema, Sarah Doyle, Caitlin Fysh, Lena Maripuu, Reanne Spitzer, Priscilla Taylor and Annie Tuma.
