If a wheel could roll as frictionlessly
as a mass of rock tumbling over & over
through the asteroid belt
circling & circling & circling the sun
it would never slow & never be done
once set in motion like the one
without stress or strain
riding a pushed wheelchair through a landscape
.          without hollow or hill
rolling down
.          a never-ending hall
toward a vanishing point that instead
emerges expands & gains
the particularity of door after name-plated door
open wide so passersby see
into nonagenarians’ rooms each much the same
like the days that roll on & on
into what only seems like eternity
